Turn of the (Quarter) Century
Well, as some of you may know... I am celebrating a birthday this weekend... a rather important one, at that. That's right folks, your 'ol pal Megan is hitting the quarter century mark!!! This will be my very last post as a pre-quartercentenarian (my how time flies when you're having fun). For the past couple weeks I was sort of 'mini'-dreading this event. After all, I did officially swear off having any more birthdays 4 years ago when I turned 21. But then, the more I thought of it, the more I realized that this wasn't the catastrophic event I was playing up in my mind at all. In fact, it is quite the opposite. As you all know, Megan is very much a fan of the celebrations, especially ones centered on her (ME!). Also, let's just face it, Megan likes to eat.... 'nuff said. Finally, Megan can't think of much more fun in the world than spending time with those closest to her.... does anyone see where I'm going with this? No? Alrighty then, I will briefly skim over my plans for the weekend. First, some of my co-workers are taking me to BDs Mongolian for lunch today. Then, this afternoon, there is a (shhhhhh) suprise party planned for me by my team at work. Tomorrow night, I will be joined by apx. 25 of my nearest and dearest for sushi dinner at Blue Fish and dancin' at Cool River. I'll wrap the weekend up Sunday by lounging out in my parents pool all day, followed by dinner at Olive Garden with my family. Sooooo... I basically get to spend the weekend eating at my 3 favorite restaraunts and surrounded by my friends and family, who are all there to celebrate w/ me!!! And all I have to do really is turn 1 day older?? Sounds like a pretty good trade-off to me!!! AND... I might get a gift or two to boot!!!
Mmmmmm... getting older definitely has it's perks!!!
