Cruisin' Baybeeee!!!

As most of you know, I will be spending this Thanksgiving on a boat... much like our forefathers did before us!! Well... ok, not quite. I am taking a 7-day cruise with my immediate family (sans my sister, Erin), and my aunt and uncle. I am way excited about it!! We are going on Royal Caribbean this time, and the name of our ship is the Rhapsody of the Seas. I know several people who have taken this cruise, and said it was awesome, so I'm certain it will be a good time.

Itinerary

Sunday, 11/20 - Leave Galveston
Monday, 11/21 - At Sea
Tuesday, 11/22 - Key West, FL
Wednesday, 11/23 - At Sea
Thursday, 11/24 - Georgetown, Grand Cayman
Friday, 11/25 - Cozumel
Saturday, 11/26 - At Sea
Sunday, 11/27 - Return to Galveston

I will be sure to post pics of our adventures when I get back. Since I will not be able to post again till week after next, I will take this time to wish anyone reading a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! I hope everyone gets all the delicious turkey and fixin's that make this such a freakin' awesome holiday. There's lots more I'd like to post, but I only have until 6pm to get all my work for next week done before I leave... soooo... I will bid you all ado!!

**sniff sniff** I miss y'all already, and I haven't even left yet... I'm such a sap!!! **sniff sniff**

Seasons Greetings!!!

Belle and Bailey decided to get dressed up for Christmas a little early this year!!!

Belle Says "You are aware that you're scarring me for life, aren't you??"

Bailey says "If only I had opposable thumbs to work with... I would strangle you in your sleep"

Belle and Bailey both dream of the day when their mommy realizes that they are in fact dogs, and not human beings, or baby dolls made for playing dress-up with...

Don't Tell Me What To Do!!! please...

So, today's rant is on the subject of my status as a total pushover. I really did think I was getting better at not letting people talk me into things lately, but it has recently come to my attention that I was completely wrong. So, a 'friend' of mine decided to sign up for this thing called NaNo, which is short for NaNoWriMo, which is in turn short for National Novel Writing Month. Umm... the way it works, is you are basically supposed to write a novel in a month. 50,000 words in 30 days. Sounds like great fun, right? Well (Against my better judgement), she has talked me into signing up for this too. I am making absolutely no promises to myself, but, I do get a nifty certificate if I complete the task. There are pretty much no rules, you can write about whatever you want, it just has to be 50k words or more, and it has to be completed by midnight on the 30th. If nothing else, this should at least fill some of the downtime I experience from time to time at work.
I'll keep you updated on my progress (or lack thereof).

Total wordcount so far: 209 ... go me.

Oooooh, Pretty!!!

me likey... =)

Wednesday's Random Poll

So, I heard them talking about this on my radio station yesterday, and I had to get more info on the subject. Upside down Christmas trees. Some are bolted to the ceiling, while others are designed to sit on the floor, upside down. The reasoning behind this is that it frees up floor space to put presents, and is less dangerous to the little ones (at least the ones on the ceiling). So, what are your thoughts?

Upside down Christmas Trees:

*An ingenious and practical concept

or

*Totally funked up crazy talk

Here are a few stories I found on the origin of the upside-down Christmas tree.

Oooh Oooh Oooh... and now Target is in on the craze... wait a tick... $499 for a tree?!? Ya... um... me no think so.

Innocence
Dominant Personality: Innocence
Good Traits: You're bubbly and bright. You
ask a lot of questions, and can make anyone
smile.
Bad Traits: You're too naive. People will
step all over you.
You're Most Like: Calm. You're laid back,
and don't get much accomplished. But you have
more energy than someone who's calm.
You Need More: Fear. You run into dangerous
situations without a care, and find yourself
trapped. Be aware, and listen to your instinct.

Sadly (perhaps), and like most of the others, this quiz is pretty dang right on. Sorry for no posts recently... did anyone actually notice? haha. Perhaps I am having 'bloggers block' or something. It certainly is not an issue of time, this whole posting sabbatical that I have been on. I've got all the time in the world, seeing as how people don't purchase as much of the 'item which my job revolves around' during the colder season. I just haven't had much to say (stop the presses, what was that???).

Ok... on to my *sniff sniff* rant. I'll try and keep it short. This afternoon, I figured up about how much $$ I'm going to be bringing in this year, and compared it with last year, and to my shock and dismay, I am going to bring in less in '05 than I did in '04!!! Now, it's not A LOT less, by any means, but still! Considering I got a raise aka 'annual cost of living increase, ya right' halfway through the year, I thought for sure I'd be bringing in more this year, or at least the same amount. Well, upon further investigation, I realized that I also worked about 1/3 the amount of overtime as I did last year... I never realized how much that added up!!

**note to self - find ways to work more overtime in '06 (cough *bullsh!t* coughcough)**

On an up note though, I am super excited to be going to Austin this weekend to see the musical Movin' Out, which is based on songs by Billy Joel. Mi gusta Billy Joel y mi gusta musicals, so I am fairly certain this will be a highly enjoyable weekend to say the least. I already talked to a friend who saw it a few months ago when it came here, and she said it was a-w-e-s-o-m-e.

Anywho... if I don't talk to y'all before then, have a splendiferous weekend!!!
